Early Childhood Education on Campus

Early childhood education sets your child up for a lifetime of success. You can find two early childcare facilities conveniently located on San Jacinto College campuses. 
Child Care Laboratory School
Central Campus

The Lab School provides safe, healthy, and high-quality care for children of San Jac students, faculty and staff, and community members. Our Lab School serves children ages 6 weeks to 5 years and follows the academic calendar of San Jacinto College.

Bexos Academy Preschool
North Campus
The Bezos Academy provides tuition-free Montessori-inspired preschool for low-income families in the College’s North Campus community. The Academy offers year-round programming, five days a week, for children ages 3-5 years old.

According to the National Education Association, children in early childhood education programs are:
  1. Less likely to repeat a grade

  2. More likely to graduate from high school

  3. Higher earners in the workforce

 

Additional Assistance Information

 

Carl Perkins Childcare Grant

San Jacinto College offers funding for childcare assistance to students pursuing an Associate of Applied Technology or Occupational Certificate. In order to qualify, you must:

  • Be enrolled in a career or technical certificate or degree program with an active degree plan.
  • Be enrolled in at least six credit hours on campus. Online, prerequisite and/or college preparatory courses do not count.
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress.

San Jac & Workforce Solutions 

San Jacinto College works with Workforce Solutions to provide child care assistance to eligible students. Please visit your nearest campus Financial Aid Office to complete an application or email them at finaid@sjcd.edu.
